Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners

Members of various Sudanese groups rallied in Khartoum on Tuesday in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons who have started a hunger strike since April 17.

The "Freedom and Dignity" hunger strike has been launched to press for better imprisonment conditions including family visits, better medical care and an end to solitary confinement and administrative detention.

The protesters, including youth, women, political parties and trade unions marched to the United Nations headquarters where they handed the representative a letter demanding the world organization to protect human rights without distinction of any kind and intervene to save lives of the Palestinian prisoners.
