When loyalty defeats war

Khartoum (Sudanow)- Omar Dafallah, known as "Luka", was on the verge of a new professional step. He was on his way to the headquarters of Al-Khartoum National Club in Khartoum to complete the signing procedures officially as part of their roster in the last player registration period. However, fate had other plans. The car he was in hit a landmine, causing severe injuries that led to the amputation of his left hand and right leg, ending his football career as a player.
The player's football career came to an end, but the club's loyalty towards him didn't stop. The club signed a lifelong contract with the player and reserved his jersey number (10) for life. This gesture affirmed that the values of loyalty in the Sudanese sports community transcend the boundaries of the green rectangle, embodying commitment and compassion.
Al-Khartoum National Club didn't abandon their player in his time of need. Instead, they took the initiative to complete his registration in a historic symbolic move, attended by leaders from the Football Association and the club. They declared that "Luka" will remain a son of the club for life. The player had been an example of good sportsmanship on and off the field, according to his teammates from the clubs he played for. Al-Khartoum National affirmed that it's more than just a football club .
The player couldn't make it to the field to train, nor could he hold a pen to sign while in full health. War intervened, ending his career, but it didn't end his dream of signing for the club. Nor did it defeat his spirit, just as the landmines couldn't destroy loyalty. "Luka" remains on Al-Khartoum National Club's roster for life, and his jersey number stands as a testament that sports are sometimes more just than war.
