Beginning with this issue and continuing through the end of August, Sudanow magazine is launching a special editorial series to mark the 72nd Anniversary of the Sudanese Armed Forces, under the slogan: "Our Guardian, Our Wealth, and Our Blood... Our Army, the Army of Prosperity."

The special coverage will feature a series of documentary and analytical reports tracing the history of the Sudanese Armed Forces, documenting their achievements across different historical periods, and highlighting the spirit of national solidarity between the Sudanese people and their armed forces. It will also include field reports on reconstruction efforts and the restoration of essential services in areas devastated by the war, as well as the Armed Forces' role in supporting stability and creating conditions that enable displaced citizens to return to their communities.

The Sudanese Armed Forces are among the oldest military institutions in the region, with a long-standing record of military professionalism and service. This year's Armed Forces Day carries particular significance in light of the developments taking place in Sudan and the recent military advances achieved on the ground.

The coverage notes that the war that erupted on 15 April 2023 posed one of the greatest challenges in the country's modern history, during which the Armed Forces demonstrated resilience and their ability to manage prolonged military operations. It also examines the recent military gains in North Kordofan State, presenting them as a significant milestone in the ongoing campaign and discussing their implications for restoring control over the remaining areas.

The magazine will dedicate extensive space to documenting the sacrifices made by the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting forces, highlighting stories of courage from the front lines in tribute to the fallen, in recognition of the wounded and injured, and in hope for the safe return of those still missing. It will also shed light on the contributions of Sudanese youth in supporting the Armed Forces throughout the different stages of the conflict.

Sudanow emphasizes that celebrations of the Armed Forces Day have continued throughout the years of war. However, this year's commemoration carries a distinctive documentary character aimed at recording military achievements, highlighting the Armed Forces' contribution to strengthening security and stability, and supporting efforts to restore life in war-affected areas, making this anniversary an important national occasion for documenting a pivotal chapter in Sudan's modern history.
