Sit-inners Brave Heat In Ramadan
12 May, 2019
KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - Braving thirsty, heat and hunger during the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan and a record breaking heat of 47 D Celsius, thousands of youth continued their sit in before the Sudanese Armed Forces General command in down town Khartoum.
The Youth are nowadays taking the heat literally and metaphorically, in their bid to protect the gains of their revolution, and make the Transitional Military Council bow to the public demand for a civilian government.
The photo shows a sit-inner, paying no heed to all adverse and harsh conditions, reciting the Holy Quran in front of a giant poster carrying photos of those revolutionaries who fell in the land of honor, defending their cause.
The protesters are pressing for the formation of a civil government to run the country during a Transitional period of four years ebbing away the current Transitional Military Council that assumed power after the demise of Dictator Omer Al-Bashir, in April 2019.
