Khartoum, (Sudanow) - the Armed Forces on Saturday issued a statement in which it condemned the traitorous attack led by the remnants of the so-called Revolutionary Front against the town of Um Rawaba.
Colonel Sawarmi Khalid Saad, the official Spokesman for the Armed Forces, has pointed out that the Front amassed seditious forces in the area of Jawa in South Kordufan state and sneaked to the town of Um Ruwaba which it attacked in the small hours of the day, notwithstanding the slogans it raises and in which it claims to be adopting national causes, following is the text of the statement issued by the armed forces as carried by the Sudan News Agency SUNA:-
''Should they intend to deceive thee-verily, Allah sufficeth thee: He it is that hath strengthened thee with his aid and with (the company of) the believer'' (Surat al anfal, 8, verse 62)
Dear free compatriots, the remnants of the so called Revolutionary Front are still poised to continue its enmity. Despite the slogans it raises claiming adopting nationalistic and citizens' causes, the remnants of the Revolutionary Front , has insisted but to terrorize the peaceful civilians of North Kordufan state, in the early hours of the day, when it amassed seditious forces in the areas of Jawa, in the southern area of South Kordufan state.
And it sneaked through the mountainous Nuba Mountains, making use o the cover the region provides, until they reached the areas of Abu Karshoula, where they were confronted by our forces that inflected heavy material and human losses on them. But they continued their advance with the view to effect most possible destruction.
Thus they looted the village of Allah-Karim, and then they targeted the town of Um –Ruwaba where they destroyed the communication tower in the town and the electricity station, looted properties of the civilians and the service stations there.
The armed forces confronted them in the town, where fighting was still going on, and the army continued its operations in chasing the aggressors. And we will keep you posted with any further details.
