KHARTOUM, (sudanow.info.sdr)- according to the official website of the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission, the primary results for the Referendum of Southern Sudan are as follows:

1.19% unity 44,830 votes
98.81% secession 3,734,280 votes
Votes cast: 3,793,572
Valid votes: 3,779,110
Blank votes: 6,194
Invalid votes: 8,268
Results distribution :
The results displayed across this website are incrementally updated from the information retrieved from the referendum centers. As of now, 100% of the North and OCV votes and 98.7% of the South votes have been processed. (Last updated 2011-01-22 15:30:32) These are incomplete and provisional pending the declaration of preliminary and final results. They may be subject to change.
