Sudan : The Land of Opportunities

Our country is welcoming with anticipation a new and rigorous period of its contemporary history in the second half of the current year, 2011. It enters this period with great hope and anticipation for the future, with the confidence of believers and an industrious determination and awareness of our capable human resources and abundant and diverse natural resources which represent a source of power for any developing nation. Sudan seeks to properly make use of and manage these resources as it has willingly chosen peace in order to harness these resources it has long waited to depend on, because a of war it had been tied to since before independence in 1956, until the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005.
Sudan has survived many challenges in its ancient and contemporary histories and each time it comes out stronger and more united. This coming July 8th Sudan initiates the period of the second republic in its history after the citizens of south Sudan chose to separate and create a new state in the aftermath of the referendum that took place in January 2011 in accordance with the CPA.
As our great country moves forward to a new era in its great history, it is dctcnnincd to make the end of die old entity a new start for the Sudanese state and the Sudanese people in accordance to a well-studied strategy and specific goals. It is in this context that the Ministry of Information acts, as it is the organization responsible for reflecting Sudan's image to the world, and introducing its people, land and resources, its history, present and hopes for the future. It is also provides information to the relevant authorities in the state, international interested parties, domestic and international media outlets and investors.
