Bashir says all detainees were released

Khartoum, (sudanow.info.sd) - The Sudan national security on Tuesday released 60 detainees following instruction by the president Omar Al Bashir who told the parliament that Sudanese prisons are now freed of any detainees.


 


The Sudan news agency has quoted the National Security and Intelligence organ as saying that directives have been issued by its head for the release of "all detainees related to rebellion and cross border crimes".


 


"There has never been a political detainee with the national security" the agency quoted senior official as saying.


 


In his first address before the national assembly, after the independence of Southern Tuesday, President Bashir has stressed that Sudanese security organ holds no political detainee at all.


 


"We call upon all Sudanese citizens to take part in the inclusive national dialogue with a spirit of responsibility and out of free conscious and thought, with no restriction and in free forums of opinion the president said in a speech to mark what he calls "the second republic," after the secession of southern Sudan.


 


Bashir has meanwhile reaffirmed his government would cooperate with the new state of south Sudan and would work with them to resolve all pending questions.


 


" We would like to reaffirm here once again that our relations with the new born South Sudan State will be based on mutual respect, and serous endorsers to boost stability and build distinguished and positive relations based on common interest" the president said in his statement Tuesday.


 


He also said a new economic policy, including issuance of a new currency, will be adopted to cope with the new developments in the Sudan.
