The president of the Republic mourns the death of Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi

Khartoum, (sudanow.info.sd) – President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omar Al Bashir has mourned the untimely death of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Ato Meles Zenawi.
In a statement issued in Khartoum, the Presidency of the Republic has expressed the President's condolences and profound sympathy with the government and people of Ethiopia, describing the late Prime Minister as a courageous, African leader and a wise politician who led his people with insight and represented Africa and reflected the faith of African leaders who trusted him to represent them in local, regional and international forums.
The Sudanese Presidency of the Republic has pointed out to supportive and positive stands of the late Prime Minister, Zinawe, beside the Sudan and its people.
It said the late Prime Minister had been always concerned about development and challenges facing the Sudan and was continuously in contact with the Sudanese leadership, taking initiatives to reaffirm Africa's capability and ability to boost peace in the couonry, saying he was the first African leader to contribute with forces within the United Nations African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and also to send Ethiopian troops to Abyei (Unisia).
The Presidency statement eulogized late Prime Minister, Zenawi, as taking yet another initiative to host the Sudanese –South Sudanese peace talks currently going on in Addis Ababa and that this initiative dated back even to the first meeting that took place in Mekekle.
The statement said Sudan's loss in Meles Zenawi was a loss of a friend and a wise man who was concerned with the Sudan its people, stability and development, considering the historic and eternal relation between the two countries.
The Presidency expressed hope that the Ethiopian people and leadership would overcome the untimely and sudden death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, and that they would be armed with patience and continue the process initiative and strategies developed by the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
