Al-Bashir and Boutaflika Hold Talks

ALGIERS (SUDANOW)- The Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Abdul Aziz Boutaflika of Algeria on Monday held a round of talks focusing on outstanding relations between the two countries and means for boosting them further in the various domains , with a focus on trade and economy.
President al-Bashir arrived in Algeria Sunday in a three-day official visit.
He has pointed out in press statements following his meeting with his Algerian counterpart, that Sudan view with appreciation the role played by Algeria in handing the security situation in the region particularly its contribution to find a solution to the crisis in Mali, beside the Algerian huge contribution in resolving the question in Libya and at the same time fighting terrorism and combating human trafficking and organized crime.
The president said there are lots of hostile activities that need coordination and solidarity between the two countries.
Bashir said his talk with the Algerian president also discussed the Palestinian cause, the situation in Yemen, Iraq and Syria and how assistance could be provided for these countries to help them overcome their current crisis.
He pointed to the great role played by Algeria in support of the African liberation movement.
He said the discussion also touched on the possibility of Algeria playing a role in closing the gap between Egypt and Ethiopia on the issue of the renaissance dam, referring to the role currently played by Sudan in this domain.
President Bashir described his meeting with the Algerian president as being successful and fruitful, and that the outcome of the talks would reflect on the bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that the view of the two countries have been identical on all issues reviewed.
The president has added that the visit was also an opportunity to lay before Algerian businessmen a number of projects and to brief them on the huge agriculture, mining, and animal resources potentials of the Sudan.
