Sudanese Coalition for Quds Advocacy Formed
02 November, 2015By: Aisha Braima
KHARTOUM (SUDANOW) - A Sudanese Coalition for Quds Advocacy was announced here Monday on occasion of the anniversary of the notorious Balfour Declaration.
The Deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Workers Trade Unions Federation (SWTUF), al-Jinaid Ahmed Salih told a press conference that the Palestinian cause was of concern for every Muslim and every free person in the world. He stressed the need for reactivation of common Arab action in support of the Palestinian cause in all and every organization.
President of the Sudanese Palestinian Brotherhood Society Osman al-Bashir al-Kabashi said the aim of the coalition was to mobilize efforts and assemble capabilities to raise awareness about the Palestinian question and to translate this awareness into political action advocating the cause.
He said every Muslim has a responsibility to defend Palestine particularly the Arab countries. The Western countries, who claim to defend human rights, are to be held responsible for the violations which take place in Palestine, he added.
The coalition will be part of the International Coalition for Quds Advocacy.
The Balfour Declaration, dated 2 November 1917, was a letter from the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to the leader of the British Jewish community promising the Jews a national home in Palestine.
