President of New Justice and Equality Movement Arrives in Khartoum
22 December, 2015KHARTOUM (SUDANOW) - President of the New Justice and Equality Movement(N-JEM) arrived in Khartoum Monday evening to talk with the concerned parties on how his movement will take part in the ongoing National Dialogue conference.
Mansour Arbab said in statements reported by the Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) that extending the 2-month cease-fire by the government is at the top of the issues he would be discussing in Khartoum. He said he would also talk with officials on dropping death sentences against some rebel elements in Khartoum, besides discussing with relevant authorities the return of refugees and displaced persons to their home areas.
The Movement has already initiated talks with the National Dialogue mechanism (7+7) on these issues, early this month in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Arbab affirmed that the two parties have made considerable progress on these issues, accommodating the views of his movement for joining the sessions of the National Dialogue.
The National Dialogue Conference started in Khartoum October 10th to discuss solutions for major national issues. Arbab said he was of the view that there were still outstanding issues which need further serious discussion.
