Sudan Exports 1.1 Billion Dollars Worth of Livestock

KHARTOUM (SUDANOW) - Sudan's animal exports in the fiscal 2015, stands at 1.1 billion dollar, the Minister for Animal Resources said.
Professor Musa Tibin Musa said in press statements that these exports include live animals and meat.
Musa disclosed that his ministry has plans to increase the exports of cattle, meat and hides, to bring home 2 billion dollars this year.
It is to be noted that the Sudan has over 160 million head of livestock according to 2015 estimates.
The animal sector provides 20% of the Gross National Product while 47% of the country's population is engaged in this sector.
