President al-Bashir Tours Darfur’s Five States – Round up (2)

Dhayein, East Darfur State (SUDANOW) - The President of the Republic, Omar al-Bashir, arrived in Dhayein capital of East Darfur state, in the final leg of his five day tour which took him so far to South, West, North, and Central Darfur states.
He was received by the Governor of the State Anas Omer and a number of political and executive leaders.
The Democratic Unionist Party -Original- has welcomed the President's visit to East Darfur State saying, in a statement it issued on this occasion, it reflects the attention and concern of the leadership with the people of the region on the ground and shows the government ceaseless efforts to achieve peace and stability in Darfur.
The party called on the rebel movements and those who stayed away from joining the political process of the National Dialogue process, to change their attitude and joint the efforts seeking to bring peace, stability and development to the country.
Addressing a mass rally, al-Bashir called on the citizens of East Darfur to adhere to the principles of brotherhood, reconciliation and co-existence urging them to discard tribalism and sectionalism.
He explained that the government is working towards provision of water, health and electricity services to the people. He directed the governors to maintain justice and forgiveness vowing that any governor would be held accountable if he failed in his mission.

During his visit to Nyala city, capital of South Darfur State, on Monday President Al-Bashir called on the citizens of Darfur to refrain from fanaticism, regionalism and tribalism and support the government program for collecting arms and to make the possession of arms confined to the regular forces only.
He lauded the stances of the State of Qatar in supporting Sudan regionally and internationally and in the fields of development and rehabilitation.
The President has attended the signing of a contract for implementing the Western Salvation Highway - Al-Fasher - Nyala sector at the length of 95 kilometres.
He has issued a directive banning collection of any fees on the roads, excluding the fees issued for the interest of the National Roads and Bridges Corporation. The imposition of fees on the roads has contributed to increasing the prices of basic commodities and hindering the flow of goods, he added.
Al-Bashir inaugurated in Nyala a number of development and services projects including internal roads, the rehabilitated Neyala Stadium and Justice Tower and the Zakat chamber buildings, beside Nyala University and an electricity distributing project there.
He pledged that the problem of water shortage in Nyala city will be solved permanently.
