Five Sudanese Killed in Fighting between Libyan Factions in Benghazi

KHARTOUM (Sudanow.info.sd) - Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced that five Sudanese nationals have been killed in Genfoudah area of Benghazi during armed confrontation between Libyan armed groups.
The Ministry spokesman Greeballa al-Khidir said on Saturday that the Sudanese Consulate in Benghazi informed the Foreign Ministry that Genfoudah area was a target of shelling during the past four days and one of the Libyan fighting groups used about 200 Sudanese nationals, including three families, as human shields. Five of those Sudanese were killed while others were besieged between the sea and the fighting areas, left unable to move anywhere.
The Consulate said one of the besieged managed to contact it and reported the death of the five Sudanese individuals.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry promised to coordinate with the Libyan army and the Red Cross for securing a safe exit passage for the besieged Sudanese individuals, Khidir said.
