Societal Dialogue Submits Document To Al-Bashir

KHARTOUM (Sudanow.info.sd) – The Societal Dialogue on Monday submitted its final recommendations document to President Omer Bashir at the closing session of the Dialogue’s General Assembly, in the Friendship Hall, Khartoum.
The dialogue, which is the societal part of the National Dialogue, started two years ago with the aim of discussing the issues of difference by all categories of the society including the civil society organizations, native administration leaders, prominent figures, trade unions, women, youth, preachers, media experts, sportsmen, artists, small producers, among others
The Societal Dialogue recommendations document comprises 11 themes including National Identity, National Accord, Values, Freedoms, Economy, People’s Livelihoods, Administration, Good Governance, Foreign Relations, Culture, Education, Sports and Political Participation.
Bashir pledged to closely follow up implementation of the Societal Dialogue recommendations within the (National Document) that incorporates recommendations of both National Dialogue and Societal Dialogue in addition to the outcome of the State Reform Programme.
He said the National Document would be the principal pillar for building the country’s future as it would establish a permanent constitution for the country and realize the political stability and overall revival.
The National Dialogue’s recommendations, involving five main national issues: peace, governance, identity, foreign relations and economy, will be submitted to the president when it convenes its General Assembly, on the 10th of coming October.
